The potential of social media in connecting and conversing with people is simply unmatchable with any other technology. Today, most of us are able to use our virtual identities on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter in achieving different types of emotional, professional and commercial goals. Organizations are effectively using the social media to market their offereings by informing and engaging with potential and existing customers. Though, learners, teachers and other professionals leverage the same media to update, share and comment, it remains to be seen if social channels like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter can be integrated in to the design of online learning content.
